you think that you have it in your grasp and suddenly it just takes flight and disappears from your sight.
what exactly makes this world go around?
what is this force that drives us on,
that encourages to work harder
and makes us want to get up every morning?
is it different for everyone or does everyone basically depend on the same thing?
i still can't get over the fact that something seemingly neverending like our lives can be destroyed so easily,
an accident, a sickness or even time itself can slowly wear one down.
deep thoughts aren't my forte.
but why do so many things happen to people i know?
should i thank whoever's up there right now for letting me continue life without knowing death?
or should i be angry at them for letting so much happen around me,
yet rendering me unable to do anything but offer kind words.
sometimes kind words can't do much,
actions on the other hand always set themselves apart on a whole new level, that i know.
however, i still have no idea what action is deemed suitable for providing comfort.
would they scorn us and feel that we're just pitying them?
a human's a proud individual,
i hate to infringe upon their comfort zone, and make them feel uncomfortable.
but once again,
if i don't do anything,
that monster called guilt will just gnaw away at my heart.
i can't help but berate myself because i KNOW i can help ease their pain somehow,
even if it's just a simple hug or a thought to let them know they aren't alone.
at least that's how i view it.
many things happened today,
some of them good,
some of them bad.

imagine one day, when all that is gone?
the simple things in life aren't hard to identify,
but they're hard to appreciate when they're around.
